The NI / In Jabalpur, West Central Railway, infrastructure projects are being expedited in the current financial year, similar to the previous year. Efforts are ongoing to rapidly complete various construction works under different projects, including new lines, doubling, and tripling of tracks. In this series, infrastructural railway projects are being carried out at a fast pace under the constant supervision of General Manager Mrs. Shobhana Bandopadhyay. As a result, on the first day, Wednesday, a total of 11.81 kilometers of the Hardua-New Majhgawan Phatak rail section was inspected, and a speed trial was conducted at 120 km/h by the Commissioner of Railway Safety.

On the second day, Thursday, May 16, 2024, Commissioner of Railway Safety (Central Zone) Manoj Arora inspected the Ganeshganj-Patharia rail section under the Jabalpur division’s third line project in the Katni-Bina section with the purpose of commissioning. During this inspection, Chief Administrative Officer (Construction) Manoj Kumar Agrawal, along with other officials from the WCR headquarters, and Divisional Railway Manager Vivek Sheel, along with other senior divisional engineers from Jabalpur division, were present. Notably, the total distance of this section is 12.908 kilometers, which includes station buildings, yards, major bridges, minor bridges, and level crossings. A thorough safety inspection was conducted of the railway track, OHE line, major/minor bridges, station buildings, yards, and level crossings on this under-construction third line. The CRS also conducted a successful speed trial at a maximum speed of 120 km/h on the Ganeshganj-Patharia section.

The Katni-Bina rail section on West Central Railway is a very busy coal route, and the addition of this third line will ease the traffic load, facilitating smoother operation of both freight and passenger traffic.
