Indian Medical Association unites against the organized nexus of alleged RTI activists and political leaders.

The Indian Medical Association (IMA) has submitted a memorandum to the Superintendent of Police (SP) in Jabalpur, accusing fake journalists and RTI activists of extortion and blackmailing private hospitals.
In a press conference, the IMA alleged that certain so-called journalists and RTI activists in Jabalpur city have been involved in blackmailing activities, specifically targeting private and government doctors as well as private hospitals for extortion. The IMA stated clearly that such activities will no longer be tolerated and that strict action will be taken against those involved.
IMA President Dr. Richa Sharma and Secretary Dr. Shamikh Raza, along with their delegation, met with Additional SP Anand Kaladgi and demanded strict action against the entire group involved in such practices. In the memorandum submitted by the IMA, serious allegations were made, stating that some self-proclaimed RTI activists and fake journalists have been putting pressure on Chief Medical and Health Officer (CMHO) Dr. Sanjay Mishra to obtain information about private hospitals from the health department. This information is then misused to blackmail hospitals and entangle them in legal disputes. The memorandum includes named complaints against certain individuals. The IMA has urged the police to take strict action. ASP Anand Kaladgi has assured an impartial investigation into the matter.
Present on the occasion were IMA President Dr. Richa Sharma, Secretary Dr. Shamikh Raza, Dr. Amarendra Pandey, Dr. Sanjay Mishra, Dr. Pawan Sthapak, Dr. Rajesh Dhirawani, Dr. Sangeeta Srivastava, Dr. Rakhi Bajpai, Dr. Komal Jain, Dr. Adarsh Vishnoi, Dr. Avijit Vishnoi, Dr. Aditya Parihar, Dr. Lalit Srivastava, Dr. Geeta Guin, Dr. Alka Agrawal, Dr. Rakesh Pathak, Dr. Neelkamal Suhane along with several doctors and senior office-bearers of the organization.
